Everyone was a winner at the Junior Nationals held on Saturday December 5^th 2009 in beautiful Brantford Ontario but Conformation junior handler Brittany Carella (Zone 4A) from Uxbridge Ontario and Obedience handler Veronica Frazer (Zone 10) from Edmonton were crowned champions.

Again this year, sponsor Eukanuba will help make it possible for champion Brittany Carella to travel to Crufts to compete at the International Junior Handling competition in March 2010. It will be a trip of a lifetime for Brittany and the CKC will have a wonderfully talented Junior Handler representing Canada at Crufts.

Edmonton’s Veronica Frazer, Obedience champion, will receive a $1000 educational bursary through the kindness of Eukanuba for her talent and hard work. Edmonton will be the location of next year’s National Junior Handling Championship and we look forward to seeing Veronica there!

Organizer and Chair Nelly Bennett noted that each one of “these kids are amazing competitors and their sportsmanlike conduct is exceptional”. Huge thanks to Nelly, her team and The Brantford and District Kennel & Obedience Club who were consummate hosts and helped make the weekend a blast for competitors.
